For expats living in HCMC or Hanoi apartments, a Lab can work, but only if you can commit to vigorous daily exercise (long walks, runs, or regular trips to a park). Without sufficient activity, Labs can become bored and destructive. Vietnam's heat and humidity are also worth factoring in: Labs do tolerate warmer climates reasonably well, but avoid strenuous outdoor exercise during the hottest midday hours, especially in the south.
